Ah, the PO
Here's a post on gothamist of a guy freaking out at my local post office. I went there once and never returned. Now you can see why. I think this clip really embodies the spirit of NYC. At first everyone is kind of freaked out, and then they start laughing.

have I ever told you about the time I witnessed a customer meltdown at the post office on 34th and Park Avenue South? A little old lady was standing at the front of the line and she hadn't noticed that the next window had become available. The postal worker kept shouting "Next, next, next!" but the little old lady didn't hear her. Finally the person in line behind her nudged her and beckoned towards the open window. The little old lady wheeled around and screeched at the postal worker, "Why didn't you tell me you were open?!" and then began a tirade. The postal worker turned around and walked away. Then all the other customers in line started yelling at the little old lady for making the wait even longer. It was a great New York moment.
I'm so glad everyone has video phones now so these magical moments can be captured for all to enjoy on the iternets.
